YOGA NIDRA: the ultimate relaxation
Yoga Nidra, often referred to as 'sleep yoga', offers a serene and passive approach to the practice, inviting practitioners to recline with eyes closed, cocooned under a comforting blanket. While the name suggests sleep, it's more about entering a state where the mind and body find profound rest without actually falling asleep.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that uses a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. This yogic sleep technique calms the nervous system and activates the parasympathetic (relaxation, rest & digest) response.Â
I started incorporating Yoga Nidra into my bedtime routine, finding it helped me ease into sleep. Eventually, I began doing shorter sessions during the day – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. These sessions became essential for boosting my energy and resilience, especially during tough times.
Even now, whenever I feel stressed or tired, I turn to Yoga Nidra for its calming effects. It continues to bring me a sense of peace and renewal that's hard to put into words.

Good to know: It might take your body and mind a while to get used to a whole session, especially when you're not used to meditation or slowing down. Your body might resist and get a bit irritated. Be gentle to yourself, and try it several times. It's really worth it.
